Aitolia
Aitolian League, c. 220-205 BC. Drachm (Silver, 20mm, 4.93 g 10). Laureate head of Artemis to right, her hair tied in a Krobylos at the back and with a bow and quiver at her shoulder; in the field at the top of her neck truncation, ΦΙ. Rev. ΑΙΤΩΛΩΝ Aitolia, her head facing front, seated right on pile of shields, holding a spear with her right hand and a short sword with her left; to right, trophy; to left, two monograms. BCD Akarnania -. Tsangari 675 (D7-R9). Very rare. Struck on a broad flan and of fine style. Corroded surfaces and slight traces of doublestriking on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
