Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26mm, 17.20 g 2), Seleukeia in Pieria, after c. 300. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lionskin headdress. Rev. ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ (vertically to left and right) Zeus seated left on high backed throne, holding Nike stretching right to crown him in his right hand and scepter in his left; below throne, monogram within circle. Le Rider, Antioch, 44-47 (A6/P23). SC 30. WSM 900. Rare. An attractive coin struck in high relief, but minted from a rusty die. Extremely fine.
