Antioch, Aulus Gabinius, proconsul, 57-55 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 15.27 g 1). Idealized diademed head of the Seleukid king Philip Philadelphos to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟV / ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟVΣ ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟV Zeus seated on throne to left, holding Nike in his right hand and long spear in his left; below throne, monogram of ΛΙ; to left, in field, monogram of ΑΥΛΓΒ. McAlee 1. Prieur 1. RPC 4124. Some pitting on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
