North East Italy. The Veneti, late 2nd - early 1st century BC. Drachm (Silver, 13mm, 2.51 g 3). Wreathed head of Artemis to right, her hair in rolls and with a very large frontal eye. Rev. Lion with long talons standing to right; above, pattern of curved lines imitating an inscription. CCCBM II, S71. SLM 1024. An attractive, toned example. Good very fine.
