Busts of Vitellius' son Aulus, on the left, and his daughter Vitellia, on the right, facing each other; both are draped with a circular clasp on their shoulders. BMC 28. Cohen 4. RIC 101. Very rare, especially in such nice condition. Beautifully toned. Some very minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.

The children of Vitellius had differing fates after their father's death: his son was executed but Vitellia, who was already married to a provincial governor, received the favor of Vespasian. After her husband died in 70. Vespasian arranged a very good second marriage for her.
