Lucius Verus, 161-169, Philippopolis. Assarion (Bronze, 17mm, 4.26 g 7). ΑV ΚΑΙ Λ ΑVΡΗΛΙΟC ΟVΗΡΟC Bare bearded head of Lucius Verus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΠ / ΟΛΙΤΩΝ The Three Graces, draped, standing facing: the one at the center holds two grain ears and a pitcher, those to left and right turn their heads towards the center and hold a wreath with their outer hands, and rest their inner ones on the central figure's shoulders. Varbanov 921. Very rare. An attractive coin with a dark green patina and an interesting reverse. Minor scratch on the obverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
