Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24mm, 14.34 g 7), Amphipolis, struck c. 315/4-295/4. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm branch and reins, riding horse to right; below horse, thunderbolt over Z; below horse's foreleg, dolphin to right. Le Rider pl. 48, 5. An attractive piece, of a vigorous, nearly barbaric style. Minor marks as made, otherwise, good extremely fine.
