BDM-II, pg. 433. 2 pieces in lot. By Laurent Joseph Hart. A pair of medals commemorating the bicentennial of Ruben's death and the commissioning of his monument in Groenplaats. Both display a draped bust of the artist three-quarters left wearing a jaunty chapeau; Reverse: View of the Ruben's monument. (1) piece is struck in bronze (72.64 x 9.94 mm; 227.18 gms) with nice mahogany toning and only a few speckled rim contact marks. The other piece appears to be cast in bronze and the clad in either gold or brass, likely gold (70.31 x 8.48 mm; 172.26 gms). NEARLY EXTREMELY FINE.
