Marcus Aurelius Carinus, son of the Emperor Carus, he became, with his brother Numerian, before Caesar and then Augustus of the western part, until, Numerian died, he was only Augustus of the Empire. He fought in Germany and in Britain, defeated the general Julian, who had rebelled in the province of Pannonia, but was unable to defeat the other usurper of the East, Diocletian, who instead won the decisive battle at Viminacium, in Moesia. The battle of the river Margus ended with the defeat and death of Carinus and with the rise to power of the new emperor Diocletian.
