PHOENICIA, Tyre. Salonina. Augusta, AD 254-268. Æ (26mm, 12.31 g, 6h). Draped bust right, wearing stephane / Tyche, raising both hands, standing right before temple of Merlkart-Hercules containing club; altar and murex shell to right of Tyche. Rouvier –; CNG 97, 517 var. (arrangement of rev. legend); CNG 90, lot 1147 var. (same). Near VF, earthen green patina. Scarce.

The descriptions of the two previous examples we have sold both incorrectly cite Rouvier 2566, which is the type which shows Dido overseeing the building of Carthage, as the previous lot.
