BRITISH COINS, SCOTLAND, James II (1437-1460), Groat, Edinburgh mint, second coinage (1451-1460), type II, facing crowned bust in tressure, fleurs on cusps, initial mark crown, rev inner angles with crown alternating with tri-pellets with annulet centre, twin legend and long cross, 3.58g (S 5233). Fine, toned with a patina of underlying verdigris in parts both sides.
