BRITISH COINS, William I (1066-1087), Silver Penny, Bonnet type (1068-1070?), London mint, moneyer Aldgar, crowned and diademed facing bust to edge of coin with two fillets each side, +PILLELMVS REX, rev annulet at centre of short voided cross with crescent and pellet ends, over small quadrilateral with pellet topped apexes, beaded inner circle surrounding, +ALDGAR ON LVN, 1.04g (BMC type II; N 842; S 1251). Rim a little chipped, bold very fine, patchy tone.
