BRITISH COINS, Edward IV (first reign, 1461-1470), Groat, London mint, heavy coinage (1461-1464), facing crowned bust in tressure with fleurs on cusps, fleur de lis on neck, pellet either side of crown, initial mark plain cross both sides, rev long cross patteé, trefoil of pellets in each inner angle, additional pellet in two inner quarters, 3.82g (N 1529; S 1971). Weak in two parts of legend both sides, otherwise very fine with a pleasing portrait and rare.
