Stone Oil Lamp. An excellent Ghandaran stone oil lamp from the Indus Valley, ca. 100 - 300 AD. This finely crafted example is 4-1/8" long and is carved in a leaf shape from the blue chlorite characteristic of the region. This beautiful lamp is thin walled, has a deeply grooved rim and shows signs of extensive usage. Rare type, good mineral deposits. Ex Kahn estate.
