CHINA--EMPIRE. Ta-Ching Government Bank. 5 Dollars, 1.10.1909. P-A77s. Specimen.
(S/M#T10-31) Specimen serial number, overprints and punch cancels. A rare design which was one that never made it to circulation. The note shows with a portrait vignette of Li Hung Chan at left, along with a gazebo at right and large central multicolored guilloche between. A very ornate blue under-printed design covers the face with location protectors at far left and right. Brown inks make up the lathe work frame, and red specimen solid zero serial numbers are at upper left and right. A magnificent back design shows with an arched bank name above a central vignette of hillside pagodas with "5" counters flanking. Blue primary inks surround the vignette, and red specimen serial numbers are again observed at upper left and right. CMC Gem New 66 OPQ.
