(S/M#C282-) This rare 1949 Five Yuan note is just the second we have handled and seldom available in any state of preservation. Seen with appealing farming vignettes at left and center with the important steer depiction at right. Lightly circulated and with still deep blue color. The other we sold was a PMG About Uncirculated 55 note, which brought $8,962 as lot 22083 in our April 2013 Hong Kong sale. CMC Choice About New 45.
