CHINA--PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC. People's Bank of China. 10 Yuan, 1965. P-879. Design Trial.
Design trial specimen printed in red-brown and multicolored. Completed face design, save for overprints. Back shown with under-printing only. A monumental rarity for Chinese banknotes that exhibits this normally frequented type with subtle differences. The red-brown color seen at the lower design element and counter at upper right was scrapped as the ink would fade through use leading to possible inconsistencies when in circulation. The color was changed to the black inks found on the issued notes. The central vignette exhibits subtle differences when compared to the final approved design with the officer at right wearing a high hat in favor of a cloth one. The medals wore by the figures are also significantly decreased, with this trial note showing nearly ten more than the final approved design. A few very minor stains are noticed at the left, but otherwise the quality is sensational. Also included is an issued note of the catalog number for comparative purposes. CMC Uncirculated 62.

Estimate: $200000.00- $300000.00
