MALAYA AND BRITISH BORNEO. Board of Commissioners of Currency. 10,000 Dollars, 2.1.1953. P-7s. Specimen.
(KNB7b) Specimen printed by TDLR. This outstanding item represents an enormous amount of money during the period when these notes would have circulated. The note shows in a large format with an open design showing pleasing floral work and large guilloche at center. Deep green portrait vignette of QEII at right and ornate corner frames with denomination at lower left and upper right. Seen with solid zero serial numbers and perforation diagonally at center. Imprint at lower right and back design seen with Arms of the 16 states within large central winged guilloche. This specimen note is just the second we have handled for this green design and certainly will be among the most desired lots in this fine banknote selection. This specimen shows with deeply embossed inks throughout the original paper and offers bold color in all the printed devices. Some of what PMG calls "Foreign Substance" is seen at the lower right. The last we offered was a PMG About Uncirculated 55 Net, "Previously Mounted" note that brought $35,850 as lot 52607 in our August 2013 Hong Kong sale. Certainly a banknote which will highlight any collection it enters. Easily the most significant rarity for this issuer. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 Net. Foreign Substance.

Estimate: $35000.00- $45000.00
