Septimius Severus. A.D. 193-211. AR denarius (17.3 mm, 2.51 g, 6 h). Emesa mint, Struck A.D. 194-195. Rare variety. IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II, laureate head right / SAECVL ELICIT (sic), crescent moon with seven stars and pellets. cf RIC 417; cf BMCRE W390; cf RSC 628a. VF. 

I cannot find another example of the type with the pellets in the reverse field. The style appears authentic for Emesa.
