ISLAMIC COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS, EGYPT, Fuad I (1868-1922-1936), The International Geographical Conference, Cairo, Gilt-bronze Medal, 1925, by S E Vernier, uniformed bust right, wearing fez, rev Egypt's Citadel, Royal arms and legends in Arabic below, 72.5mm, in (slightly distressed) case of issue with double F cypher on lid. Nearly extremely fine, rare as a gilt medal.
The Conference opened 1 April 1925 at the premises of the Egyptian Geographic Society (founded by Khedive Ismail). The medal's reverse is signed with a reversed VE monogram and dated 19/24.
