ANGLO-SAXON, Continental Sceattas. Circa 710/5-730/50. AR Sceat (11mm, 1.05 g). Series E, Secondary ('Kloster Barthe') phase, porcupine var. C (Type 4). Mint in Frisia (Dorestad?). 'Porcupine' right with triangular head; annulet, [cross, and various ornaments] within body / Standard with annulet at center, + V I (trefoil) around; at sides, crosses flanked by trefoils. Abramson 97.20; cf. SCBI 63 (BM), 402-3; North 45; SCBC 790C. Good VF, toned.
