SELEUKID KINGS of SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator. 312-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 17.11 g, 10h). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint II. Struck circa 296/5-281 BC. Head of Zeus right, wearing laurel wreath / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΣEΛEYKOY, Athena, brandishing spear overhead in right hand, shield on left arm, in quadriga of elephants right; anchor above, ΔA between shield and elephants. SC 130.14a; ESM –; HGC 9, 18a; Sunrise 172 (this coin). Good VF, toned, a few minor flan flaws.
