Head from Faience Figure. A plumed head from a large faience figure, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, quite detailed, wearing a headdress consisting of two feathers, horns and a solar disk, the strap for the false beard on both sides of the chin. At the back of the head is a large disk with a scarab beetle (kheper) with a solar disk above, the face quite expressive. H: 2 1/8" (8.3 cm). Some chipping and weathering of the green glaze.
