WORLD COINS, INDIA, KUSHAN EMPIRE Huvishka (c. AD 152-192). Gold Dinar, 7.99g. Nimbate and diademed half-length bust of Huvishka left on clouds, holding mace-sceptre, his other hand on the hilt of his sword. Rev. Nimbate figure of Siva standing left, pouring water from a flask, the drops falling to the left of the tamgha in the field, and holding a vajra (thunderbolt), trident, and a he-goat by a tether, the goat, possibly a reference to Daksha, who forbade his daughter to marry Siva, stands on its back legs (MK 308; cf Donum-Burns 276-8). Interesting types with generally sharp details, extremely fine.
