RUSSIAN COINS AND MEDALS, Catherine II the Great, 1762-1796, Medals of Catherine II, Complete set of Medals of Russia's Historical Rulers as commissioned by Catherine the Great in the 1770's, with additional post-Catherine medals. Bronze, 38.3-39 mm. Medal numbers 1 to 60; Grand Duke Rurik to Emperor Paul I (with two different numbers 12 – a result of contemporary miscommunication by the series medalists). The Peter III, Catherine and Paul I medals, which were commissioned later, are much scarcer than the earlier pieces. A lovely set (lot of 61). Choice about uncirculated to uncirculated
