RUSSIAN COINS AND MEDALS, Alexander II, 1855-1881, Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich 30th Birthday Commemorative 25 Roubles 1876 CБ. GOLD. Bit 565 (R3) , Fr 162, Sev 501 (RRRR), Uzd 4210 (RRR). Struck to serve as a memento of the 30th birthday of the Tsar's fourth son Vladimir, only 100 pieces of this extremely rare coin were minted. Russia issued just four large gold coin types: the 1902 Nicholas II portrait 37 ½ Roubles , the 1896 and 1908 25 Roubles and this type. Of the four, this is the rarest and most elusive, a great prize for the collector. Authenticated and graded by PCGS PR 58. Slight hint of handling, but superior in grade for the existent pieces of this extremely rare issue. Crisp types, pleasing wheaten gold. PROOF
