SYRIA, Coele-Syria. Damascus. Volusian. AD 251-253. Æ (22mm, 9.06 g, 1h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Figure advancing left, head right, extending right hand over large vessel, holding uncertain object in left. Cf. De Saulcy 11; Rosenberger –; BMC –; SNG München –; SNG Hunterian –; SNG Copenhagen –; Lindgren III 1261 = Mabbot I 2601 (same dies). Fine, brown patina, light roughness. Very rare type.
