40.4 mm; 32.75 gms. Gr-K-19; Med-96; Her-85; Betts-484. VERY RARE, only the third example of this medal we are aware of. Armored draped bust of Charles III right; Reverse: Crowned monogram of the Virgin Mary with cardinals hat above. Struck from the same obverse die as the 1761 Guanajuato medal of Charles III Grove-K-28. Nicely struck with well defined rims. Attractive toning slightly darker on reverse. CHOICE VERY FINE.
