RARE, we are aware of five examples of this medal, including one which is holed and another housed in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution. Armored draped bust of Charles III right; Reverse: Arms of the Bishop. This medal was commissioned by the bishop Francisco de San Buenaventura Martinez de Tejada who paid for the medals production. An important medal as it shows the churches loyalty to the new king. Sharply struck and a very handsome piece with full detail in bust and arms. Lightly toned with strong luster. CHOICE UNCIRCULATED.
