PERU. Lima. Silver Proclamation Medal, 1760. Charles III (1759-88). ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
36.7 mm; 14.14 gms. Med-79; Her-71; Betts-469. Armored bust of Charles III right; Reverse: Crowned arms of Lima between pillars of Hercules. The proclamation ceremonies occurred on August 21st 1760. Flanking the eagle on reverse are the letters "SUP -VND", an abbreviation of Viceroy Superanda. Nicely struck on lustrous metal. A very choice and high grade example of this medal that is often found well circulated and sometimes holed. Attractive toning with iridescent hues. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
