Sir William Congreve's Plans For the Prevention of Forgery. An extract from Ackermann's Repository of the Arts, Literature, Fashions....etc. Extract Pages from Bound Volume with Three Interleaved Color Plates. Very Fine.
March 1, 1822, Vol. XIII, No.LXXV. Octavo, pp141-147 (148). Pages extracted from the annual bound volume. Text with citations of Congreve's participation as a commissioner in 1820 on bank note security matters. Interleaved are three uniface lithographed proof sample impressions of sample notes with Congreve patent color bordering. Rare and the plates are exceptionally vibrant. Good things come in small packages. Once again, something we have not catalogued in nearly three decades of close study of American and world security printing. The individual plates are rarely seen, but with their extract text pages, extremely rare.

Estimate: $700.00- $900.00
