Proceedings of the International Conference for the Suppression of Counterfeit Currency.1926-1937. Various, (9) Reports, all Enclosed in Custom Blue Folio Three Quarter Leather Solander Box. Mixed Condition, Overall Very Fine.
A rare and unique grouping of international counterfeit suppression reports, all very rarely encountered. All nine reports smartly enclosed custom made folio size solander box (25cm by 37cm by 4cm deep), three quarter blue leather, with interior red-blue marbling. Handsome and distinctive. Published reports, meetings and findings by the League of Nations, Geneva. Card covers or self-wrappers. Generally in French with English translations where applicable. 1) "Proceedings of the International Conference for the Adoption of a Convention for the Suppression of Counterfeiting Currency". Geneva, April 9th to 20th, 1929. Full volume. Tall, small folio. Olive green card covers. Published 1930. 302pp. French with English translations. First we have seen. Amazing that the delegates could all talk and talk and talk for 12 days on this subject. But, they were on expense accounts. Important resolutions discussed and passed. Some very light edge tone, but essentially as made. 2-4) Suppression of Counterfeiting Currency. Preliminary Reports. Various dates, 1928, 1929, and 1931. The first with scotch tape patched tear at top of cover. 5-7) Financial Committee Reports (3). Various, 1926 dates. 8) "Mixed Committee for the Suppression of Counterfeiting Currency" Geneva, 1927. Small quarto. Brown card covers. 24pp. Mostly French. 9) Jurists Report on Falsification of Securities. 1937. An impressive gathering and reports we have not seen or handled before. The ornate blue solander box presentation is elegant and stores the mylar sleeved reports neatly and archival. Primary research material from this period that should appeal to collectors of European banknotes in the tumultuous 1920s-1930s time frame. Like the vast majority of items from this collection, basically irreplaceable.

Estimate: $800.00- $1200.00
