RIC-83. "A VITELLIVS GERMAN IMP TR P", laureate head of Vitellius facing right; Reverse: "SPQR / OB / C S", oak wreath with inscription. The reverse design refers to the Civic crown, an oak wreath awarded to a Roman who heroically saved the life of another Roman citizen, by slaying an enemy in hostile territory. During the Roman Empire, the emperor was usually awarded this honor at some point during their tenure. Deep cabinet tone. EXTREMELY FINE.
