38 mm; 48 gms. MY-L7, Type III. Man on floating wreckage taking a child from its drowning mother's arms, inscription "LORD, SAVE US. WE PERISH" above; Reverse: Name of the society around a wreathed long-legged bird, hallmarks to left and right of date, at bottom; edge inscribed "TO GEORGE DIXON FOR GALLANT SERVICE, 15-3-28". Swivel suspension, pin back attached to extremely tattered black silk ribbon. The medal appears to be cast. Toned. VERY FINE.
