63.8 mm; 126.3 gms. Partially draped female opening doors marked "SCIENCE" and "INDUSTRY"; Reverse: Nine line inscription with legend around all within wreath naming the recipient, "MARY G. SIMPSON/ FOR/ PAINTING IN OILS". A very attractive medal. Toned mostly a warm gray but with blushes of gold and blue hues here and there. Museum acquisition number inked on edge. Contact marks mostly confined to reverse. CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
