KM-117.2; Basso-43; PNM#16-240; cf.Cacho-Type VII CS-012; Lopez-Chavez Yriarte-1581; Gil-Crown variety 5-4-1-II (1835). Type VI countermark crowned Y.II. within circle. On an 1818-DoCG Mexico War of Independence 8 Reales. Scarce host coin. Countermark well struck and slightly off center, small die crack just to left of cross atop crown. Conservatively graded with moderate wear and cleaned long ago now with light attractive toning. Countermark VF Details, host coin PCGS Genuine--Cleaning, VF Details Secure Holder.
