SOUTH AFRICA. Medal, ND (Late 19th Century to early 20th Century). VERY FINE.
39.32 x 31.56 mm; 13.62 gms. 1896 Pond in bezel surmounted by finely engraved eagle head right, betwixt red, white and blue enameled American flags; Reverse: Same as obverse except eagle's head is left. An interesting piece of South African/American history which deserves more research. The Een Pond is well worn and heavily cleaned but the majority of the enamel is intact. Overall condition is VERY FINE.
