Lydia, Germe. Civic Issue. Time of Gordian III, A.D. 238-244. Æ 25 (24.5 mm, 8.40 g, 6 h). Scarce. IEPA ΓEPMH, turreted and draped bust of Tyche right / ΓEPMHNΩN, Athena standing left, holding patera and spear, shield leaning at right. SNG von Aulock 1096; SNG Righetti 708; SNG BN 956 corr. (described with altar). VF, black patina, minor pitting.

SNG BN lists the description for both 956 and 957 the same; Athena standing left, holding a patera over altar and spear, shield leaning at right. However, the plates show two variations; both with and without an altar. The city of Germe is just as often listed in Lydia as it is in Mysia, in the standard references.
