Brabant. Joan and Wenceslas (1355-1406) gold Mouton d'or 1357-83 MS63 NGC, Vilvorde mint, Fr-8, Schneider-229, Delm-43 (R). + AGn' o DЄI o QVI o TOLL' o PCCA o MVDI o MISЄRЄRЄ o nOB, nimbate Agnus Dei left, head right, a long cross with banner behind; all within a tressure broken by IOh' DVX in the exergue / + XP'C : VIИCIT : XP'C : RЄGИAT : XP'C : IMPЄRAT, cross fleurée with lis in angles; all within a quadrilobe with lis in spandrels. An absolutely stunning example of this rare imitative type differentiated from the French issue by the use of the title DVX in the exergue. The strike is uniformly sharp and perfectly centered on a generous flan of good metal. Soft luster blankets the surfaces and accentuates the nearly pristine fields. Superb!
