Republic Souvenir Peso 1897 MS64 PCGS, Struck by Gorham Manufacturing Company (Providence, RI), KMXM1, EMO-10A 4G/2D. Choice Brilliant Mint State with few tiny handling marks over most attractive surfaces. 4,856 pieces minted, all on August 20, 1897. The "PAT. 97." variety, long thought to have been the first issue, but now proven to be the final one in the mintage sequence thanks to research from Emilio Ortiz. Decidedly rare in this quality, and certainly worthy of spirited bidding.From The Empire Collection
