Republic "Barre Head" 2 Reales 1862 VF30 NGC, Quito mint, KM40. Decidedly choice for the assigned grade, and certainly worthy of the Extremely Fine designation for this debased issue. Friction evidence is in fact quite limited and surfaces still lustrous although dull looking as usual. One of four confirmed specimens, as noted in the description of the previous lot. The present offering of two of those four known specimens (the other is in our Platinum Night session) will undoubtedly be recognized as a landmark opportunity for Ecuadorean collectors in future years.
