Louis XIV gold Louis d'or aux 4 L 1693-W MS64 NGC, Lille mint, KM302.20, Fr-432. A most distinguished example with choice, golden patination and notable luster, especially on the reverse. As was typical practice, this piece was overstruck onto an earlier gold Louis d'or à l'écu and faint details from the earlier strike still remain, including the 1690 date.
