Anne gold Guinea 1714 AU58 NGC, Royal mint, KM534, S-3574. A superbly appealing final-year guinea for Queen Anne, the surfaces displaying desirable effulgence, a touch of orange tone and very few marks, without even a whisper of the streaky planchet annealing marks (haymarks) that so commonly run across the surfaces. The eye-appeal also benefits from a full strike that renders the garter star in the reverse centers sharply defined. Quite comparable to, and quite possibly finer than, the Terner specimen that was also graded AU58, by PCGS, and sold is our January auction four years ago for $5,750.
Estimate: 4000-5000 USD
