George III Proof Shilling 1816 PR66 NGC, Royal mint, KM666, S-3790, reeded edge variety. Ex Pittman Collection. Extremely rare; the only proof example of this type recorded by either NGC or PCGS, and far scarcer than its catalog value would suggest. Its extreme rarity, coupled with its amazing condition, as well as its super pedigree, make this a truly exceptional specimen. We have been unable to find a single example of this type having been sold publicly in at least a decade, making this very likely a once in a generation opportunity to acquire a proof 1816 shilling. This specimen has lovely light blue iridescent hues highlighting the devices, giving it great eye appeal and further adding to its overall allure. From The Law Collection
