Victoria gold 1/2 Sovereign 1853 MS64 PCGS, KM735.1, S-3859. A nearly-gem example struck with clashed dies and with the "3" in the date heavily recut. The surfaces are quite delightful and feature matte-like, honey-gold luster. Boldly-struck design elements are fully-rendered, save for the tiny details of the middle leopard in the third quadrant of the reverse shield. A wholly elegant and luxurious offering, rare, and absolutely worthy of a premium bid. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $175 in VF, $300 in EF, $650 in UNC.
Estimate: 2000-2500 USD
