World War II gold Wallenberg Family Presentation Medal June-1956 Gem Uncirculated, 62.5gms/161.36gms of 18k gold. By Sporrong & Co for Stockholms Enskilda Bank. Obv. Three busts of Wallenberg family men facing left. Rev. Stockholms Enskilda Bank building. A highly unique medal in the original box of presentation. An accompanying typed note on index card reads:Presentation Medal of the Wallenberg FamilyThis medal was given to N.D. Jay, a W.W.II R.A.F Pilot for his service. He was the winner of the French Legion of Honor Medal and was awarded this gold medal in June of 1956 by the Wallenberg family posthumously. Both N.D. Jay's and Anne Jay's names are enscribed (sic) in the edge of this 18K 5.2 ounce medal.Obviously, a significant and rare piece given its size, and an item that will surely attract the attention of World War II memorabilia specialists.
