Demetrius Poliorcetes (306-283 BC). AR tetradrachm (31mm, 16.42 gm, 10h). Amphipolis, 289-288 BC. Diademed head of Demetrius right, with bull's horn / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΔHMHTPIOY, Poseidon standing left, his right foot on rock, resting arm on his thigh and holding trident, monograms in inner left and right fields. Newell 115. SNG Alpha Bank 950 variant (inner right monogram). Struck on a huge flan and nicely toned. Minor porosity on cheek, reverse scrape. NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 3/5, Fine Style, scuff.
