PONTIC KINGDOM. Time of Mithadates VI Eupator (120-63 BC). AV stater (21mm, 8.19 gm, 12h). Byzantium, in the names and types of Lysimachus of Thrace, ca. 100-90 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΛYΣIMAXOY, Athena seated left, holding Nike; BY under throne, filleted trident in exergue. Apparently unpublished, but cf. de Callataÿ Group 2B, p. 142 and pl. 38, L for a similar type and style. Obverse double-struck. NGC MS 4/5 - 4/5.
