CILICIA. Tarsus. Satrap Mazaeus (361-334 BC). Silver stater (25mm, 10.94 gm, 4h). Aramaic inscription B'lLTRZ , Baal of Tarsus (Baaltars) enthroned three-quarters left, head facing, right hand holding grain ear and vine branch on which eagle perched right, left hand resting on scepter, m under throne, tn below grapes / Aramaic inscription MZDI, lion left attacking bull left, grain ear and ankh below. Cf. SNG Levante 106 (same obverse die). Cf. SNG Paris 350 (ankh of same form, but no grain ear on reverse). Cf. SNG von Aulock 5959 (grain ear and Aramaic letter under animals). Deeply struck from fresh dies on a broad flan, with lustrous fields. NGC MS 5/5 - 4/5.
