Charles IIII gold 8 Escudos 1790 Mo-FM AU55 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM158, Onza-1017. A well preserved coin, with substantial luster in the recessed areas and only limited friction evidence on the higher points. While the strike is a tad soft as is often the case on this issue, the surface quality is satisfying, with only scattered handling marks. A scarce transitional one-year type, more elusive than the one struck in 1789-1790 with the CAROLUS IV legend and quite challenging in this pleasant grade.
Estimate: 1500-2000 USD
